CIRCLE OF STUFF
Giving unwanted items new life
CIRCLE OF STUFF is a social good enterprise created in 2019 by Attorney Mike Lange which focuses on saving unwanted items from landfills and donating or repurposing them to help those in need.
Many of our clients are property renovators who call us after closing and before clean-out crews empty their properties.
We also help estates, realtors, owners, and others who need to empty properties before listing or selling them. We help them help others and give unwanted items new life.
Helping you help others
We can reuse and repurpose almost anything.
We know charities and those in need across Massachusetts and in other states that together can use just about everything useful and in reasonable condition.
For example, we donate unexpired food to pantries; clothes and personal care items to shelters; books to charities that sell them to fund their missions; and building supplies and tools to organizations like Habitat for Humanity.
You name it, we've found homes for it.
We've helped home owners dispose of single items to large collections, household items to closing business inventories. Some of the stranger things we've kept from landfills include an 8-foot cardboard rocket, which is now used by a veteran in municipal parades; and a vintage airplane bomb guidance control panel, whose disposition we can't disclose.
How we work with you
Most people want to help others. However, time and effort pose challenges to doing things themselves. We offer the solution. We can remove items promptly and get them to their next stage without effort on your part.
You let us know when a property is available to us and how much time we have before your clean-out crew and dumpsters arrive. You give us access to the property (lock box preferred) and we ensure items get removed before your deadline.
It's that easy. We sort, box. and remove what we think will be useful to others - and do it promptly and without disruption to your schedule.
What happens next?
Removed items are brought to one of four sites where they get sorted for donation. We then take like kind items to the appropriate charity or, in many cases, directly to people who will use them.
We help you demonstrate goodwill.
If requested, we can provide photos of removed items along with metrics that you can use in social media to let others know how you've helped the community. We can also work with your marketing team to create testimonials, case studies, and other helpful content.
We're self-sustaining.
We are not a charity and cannot accept financial donations. We self-fund using proceeds from the sale of some items to pay for boxes, gas, and supplies needed to keep things going. Besides helping you make in-kind donations we use proceeds from the sale of some items to directly help others including most recently being a sub-sponsor for the Give Moor Charity Golf Tournament benefitting Habitat for Humanity, and making monetary donations to the Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center
There is no cost to you.
Our removal services are free. If requested, we can provide donation receipts from the charitable organizations to whom we give your items, so you can claim deductions on your taxes.
Our geography.
We cover the entire state of Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
